Exam Room Assistant

(Minimum 6 months experience)

Surgical Veterinary Technician

(Must be a CVT or licensed)

Back Bay Veterinary Clinic is currently seeking a highly motivated Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our team. Our practice is focused and committed to exceptional quality veterinary medicine, client education and customer service. Qualifying candidates must be able to perform the following:

  • Admit patients scheduled for surgery and dentistry
  • Prepare instruments and know types of surgical instruments required for specific surgeries
  • Prepare gown and surgical packs
  • Prepare surgery suite for surgery
  • Prepare instruments; know type of surgical instruments required for specific surgeries
  • Surgical preparation of patient
  • Anesthesia monitoring and maintenance of anesthesia machines
  • Intubation
  • IV catheter placement
  • Drug calculations
  • Assist veterinarian performing surgery
  • Monitor patients waking up from anesthesia
  • CPR
  • Cleaning and scaling of teeth
  • Transcription of prescriptions
  • Gathering an appropriate medical history
  • Excellent client communication skills
  • Sample collection
  • Dental and Body radiographic positioning
  • Outstanding computer skills for electronic medical records

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, possess interpersonal skills to develop long standing relationships with co-workers and clients alike. You must also display an innate capacity to provide attentive care to companion animals. Rotating shifts of weekends is a must but not every weekend is required. Compensation is based on level of experience and certification.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Back Bay Veterinary Clinic is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. Our practice is focused and committed to exceptional quality veterinary medicine, client education and customer service.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, possess interpersonal skills to develop long standing relationships with co-workers and clients alike. You must also display an innate capacity to provide attentive care to companion animals.

Preferred candidates will be able to perform the following:

  • Sedation monitoring,
  • IV catheter placement
  • Drug calculations
  • CPR
  • Transcription of prescriptions
  • Gathering an appropriate medical history
  • Sample collection
  • Basic radiographic positioning
  • Outstanding computer skills for electronic medical records
