Moving Update
A delay in our cabinetry has pushed our opening date back until April 1st, 2010.
Until then, all appointments will be seen at our current home 324 Newbury.
Things are coming together nicely and we look forward to better serving you in our new facility. It's just taking a little longer than we had planned.
Look for the orange signs and the welcome water and biscuit bowl outside our new home at 288 Newbury. We'll still be on the second floor, but promise the stairs are much kinder!!!
Watch the mail and our website, www.backbayvet.com for updates and opening events.
We thank you for your continued support and excitement as our move unfolds.
Shelter Outreach Program
We have started an exciting new project at Back Bay Veterinary Clinic!! Thanks to Dr. Beth Waisburd, we have teamed up with the MSPCA Boston to help some of our furry friends in need. Each month we are donating our time and services to one of the many wonderful pets awaiting adoption. By addressing some of their health care needs, we hope these animals may find their families more quickly. This month, we had the pleasure of working with a fabulous feline named Subway. Though he immediately impressed us with his outgoing personality, Subway had evidence of advanced dental disease. After a dental procedure at our hospital, the only things that Subway is now missing are a few teeth and a loving family! Please contact the MSPCA to learn more about Subway.
November 2009
To our patients and their families:
We are delighted to announce plans for a newer, bigger, state-of-the-art Back Bay Veterinary Clinic – just one block from where we are now. We’ve begun construction at 286-288 Newbury Street, between Gloucester and Hereford, with our grand opening set for March 2010.
Our new home will allow us to provide better service with the same neighborhood convenience. And just to assure you, nothing else is changing – the staff, with its love of animals, is staying the same, and our treat bowl will always be full.
Until then, we’ll remain at our current home at 324B Newbury. In many ways, we’re sad to leave our beginnings behind – a decade can certainly fly by – but know that great things lie ahead.
If you have the chance, please visit our website and watch for updates in our lobby during this exciting time. And of course, offer up any and all suggestions and ideas now and in the future.
It’s a privilege to help keep you happy and healthy; one that we’re thankful for every day.
We hope that you are well and wish you a terrific holiday season!!
Sincerely,
Pam Bendock, Pia Torres, Beth Waisburd and the staff at Back Bay Veterinary Clinic

Dear Clients,
I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of the Boston community and to practice in such a wonderful environment. I appreciate your sincerity and devotion to your pets. However, opportunities sometimes require change. My husband is entering into a new stage in his career which will be bringing us to the Seattle area.
Regrettably, my last day at the Back Bay Veterinary Clinic will be Saturday, May 30, 2009. After my departure your pet can be seen by either Dr. Pia Torres or Dr. Beth Waisburd. I will be speaking with the other doctors to ensure a smooth transition of care. If you have any questions or concerns, please free to ask myself or after I have left by contacting Dr. Bendock.
I will dearly miss all of you and, of course, your pets.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your lives as your veterinarian.
Best wishes,
Jessica Starr DVM
